VGL Softech offers its Application Management services for the
applications built around Client-Server and Internet
technologies. The Application Management offering includes:
Maintenance Support
- Corrective Maintenance - involves the repair of
defects that prevent an application from accurately
processing data or producing correct results.
- Adaptive Maintenance - addresses the alignment
of IT solutions to dynamic business requirements.
- Preventive Maintenance - focuses on the repair of
inherent application defects to minimize the risk
of recurring problems not discovered so far. Preventive
maintenance can be both corrective and adaptive in
nature.
Application Enhancements (Release
Management) Application enhancements include
planned functional releases in line with product life
cycle. The enhancements typically include maintenance
cum development work requests.
Help Desk (24 x 7 Support)
VGL Softech has well defined model for 24 X 7 X 365 support
to time critical real time applications for its customers.

ENGAGEMENT MODELS
The client can choose one or more of the following
models to suit their need.
Staff Augmentation
In this model, clients use VGL Softech’s capability tactically
to complement their own application management team.
This model is designed for immediate requirements of
the clients. In this model VGL Softech provides consultants
and technical experts to the clients as per their needs
and client retains the primary ownership of the application.
The team can be located on-site or off-site.
Project Based
- On-Site Model -
On-Site application management is designed for immediate
or short-term projects that require a comprehensive
maintenance solution. Onsite projects are managed
either by VGL Softech or by the client on mutually agreed
terms.
- Dual Shore Model -
In this model, VGL Softech carries out major part of the work
at its facility in Jaipur, India. Small teams of consultants
work onsite at the customer’s location while
a larger team is deployed at the offshore center.
The core team provides an interface with the client
and coordinates the offshore work. The offshore team
acts as a virtual extension of the onsite project
team to execute work requests and problem requests.

Out Sourcing (Dedicated Maintenance
Center) In this model, VGL Softech maintains a dedicated
maintenance and development center as per the specifications
of the client.

Knowledge Management
Knowledge Management plays an important role in transitioning
knowledge from the client's team to VGL Softech’s team.
During this phase VGL Softech team experts discuss and ratify
the business process. Tools are used extensively for
bottom up analysis. The result is the application knowledge
which is then organized to and uploaded into a Knowledge
Management tool. Various other tools like Issue Tracking
System, Time Tracking System and EQMS (for managing
testing process) are also customized for the client’s
needs, thus making the system person independent.
Managed Transition
During this phase the maintenance activity is taken
over by VGL Softech team
Status Reporting and SLA Review
This phase enables our customer to monitor the various
transition handling processes. Customer has access to
various status reports through web based outsourcing
framework. Once the transition phase is over and both
onsite and off shore operations are stabilized, VGL Softech
completely takes over the responsibility of application
from clients and gradually brings down the number of
on site personnel to offshore to provide off shoring
cost benefit to the customer.
Maintenance Phase
The support is provided as per agreed SLA’s.
Maintenance and support services
include fixing bugs, diagnosing and correcting
latent errors, assessing impact of new releases, proposing
improvements, maintaining technical and user documentation,
monitoring applications for data integrity and performance
and a 24x7 Helpdesk.
